Malamar Construction is owned and run by Dave and Gillian Cuthbert. We started in 2019 with a simple idea: run a renovation company the way we'd want one run for our own home — organized, honest, and genuinely skilled at the work.
Today we bring together project managers, site supervisors, tradespeople and trusted subcontractors to handle projects of all sizes. Our name is on every build, so the standard never slips.

Dave Cuthbert
Carpentry-trained in the UK with 35 years in renovations, new builds and restorations. Dave runs the builds on-site — the hands and the standard behind every Malamar project.
Gillian Cuthbert
A background in banking, HR and investments, Gillian leads client liaison and design/selections — and sits on the boards of Hope House Guelph and CCI Grand River.
